In the beginning of September I got an acceptance letter to I prep academy school number 8. You might say oh your so luck that you got picked in this school and other people (hint*hint* the students) would disagree I surveyed a few people to see whether this school is as serious as they say it is.

Alright the first topic is school lunch. In the paper it said that there would be an Italian chef that would cook gourmet foods for us what do students really feel about this lunch? We asked Marie Fleurmond what she felt about this school lunch and how ‘gourmet’ she thinks it is. She says “It’s okay, they said they were supposed to have an Italian chef but we have the same thing every day uncooked chick nuggets.”

For our second topic we have the rules. I asked Walter Smith what he felt about the school rules were they fair or too strict to bare. He says “I feel like the school rules are very biased. It is only in the teachers favors and it has no use to us cool kids.”

 For our third topic we have the teachers. Are they too mean too strict or nice and give us a good learning experience? We asked Melissa Calda how she felt “these teachers are very rude and feisty. There are only two or three teachers that students actually like.”

Our fourth topic is the laptops. I’m not complaining YET but they said that we were supposed to get iPads. I’m not saying that I don’t like the laptops it’s just that we have laptops breaking left and right and it takes a while to get them fixed they should be able to go to Walmart or wherever they got these and get a new one poof. I asked Nichole Burbano how she feels about the laptops and their ‘ingenuity’ “these laptops are useless, because we barely do any work on them.”

All things considered this school is not as serious as people say it is. The board of education is wasting their time coming here every month. They’re wasting their film taking pictures of us left and right.

Have you ever looked at your feet and saw those laces untied. You were scared to play with your friends because you know you would fall because your shoes are untied. You wont ask no one to tie it for you because you were shy to say you dint know how to tie your shoes and they would make fun of you. Tying your shoes was one of the hardest things to do when you were young. Well this is to all the youngsters. You grab each lace and cross them then you make bunny ears. As easy as that!!!

On May 30th 2014, many people were debating on whether Americans should learn Spanish. On many different sites, you can find the pros and cons on whether Americans should look into learning Spanish. They question "Why Learn Spanish?" The real question is "What are the benefits?"

IPrep Academy student Al'Nasir Hankins says, “I don't think Americans should learn Spanish because it takes a long time to even understand the Spanish basics." While another student Jamad Anthony says, "If Americans learn Spanish, we will understand what bilingual people are saying, basically another way for us to communicate." Well, we hope that other Americans think the way Jamad does because Spanish language can really help us and Spanish people too. Better jobs, will be in stored if Americans learned Spanish.

Opinion on the extracurricular activities to do in your school

I interviewed a fellow student at IPrep Academy named Erica Santana and asked her about her opinion of extracurricular activities to do for her school.  The people who was present at this time is Erica Santana. On a Tuesday 05-29-14 at IPrep Academy Erica explained that she would like swimming and volleyball as extracurricular activities.

Erica Santana will like to have volleyball and swimming because they are sports that many people will enjoy. Volleyball is a sport that many people like to play and it can give you a great exercise for everyone. Swimming can help you cool down when it is really hot in school and out. Having these sports as extracurricular activities is a good idea that many will enjoy for years to come.

A.  My goal in life is a nice, house, car, family, and job.

A. Video games, television, and sports. They are very entertaining to me.

A. My dad, because he raised me and cared for me.

A. I want to be a game designer/ youtuber.

A. I love youtube and gaming is something I enjoy more than anything.

A. I enjoy RPG, minecraft, and shooter.

A. Because they are fun and it lets me do my own thing for a while.

Why Low Top?

Did you hear about the new Jordan’s? They are the Concord 11s but instead they are low top. To me they aren’t even all that. The regular Concord 11s are way better then these low top versions. You know what would be really bad. If they make all of the Jordan 11s low top. These were not created too long ago though.

                 They raised so much money on these sneakers though. They don’t even look nice. Michael Jordan and the people at Air Jordan should be ashamed of themselves. Since summer is coming up they should’ve just made more Jordan sandals. That was a dumb move Jordan. Instead they should’ve made more bright colors for the Jordan 4s.

                The Jordan 4s only light color is yellow. And of course the Concord 11s Low just have to be plain white and black. I mean yes the sneakers can go with anything. And yes they are cute but why so expensive. They can’t have a lower price. Why do you think people walk around with Fubu’s on? Sneakers should cost 200$ or less. Another bad move made by Jordan.

                Finally updates. Most people don’t even know what’s out happening out there happening right now. There could be a major discount for a popular Xbox game right now at GameStop. This is why you are reading this. For the updates. Let’s begin.

                Nintendo has a lot of systems. A 3D’s a Wii U, Wii, and many other games. But now behold the Nintendo 2D system. In this system you can play DS and 3DS games in it. It has 3DS features and many fun games. A game system isn’t fun without games so let’s talk about discounted games. Nintendo has recently cut the prices for 5 of its great games. This is Mario Kart 7, Super Mario Bro’s 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mario 3D Land, and, Animal Crossing. Great for 3DS and 2DS. These games will be available in the Nintendo eShop for $29.99 each. When I bought my games they were about 40 dollars.

                Minecraft. My best favorite game. Which I think is getting worse with the new updates. So 1.7.9 came out like 2 months ago. 1.7.X came out like 6 or 7 months ago. This update is called “The Update that changed the world”. This update added twitch TV to the Minecraft option in the options menu. It allows you to twitch directly from Minecraft to twitchtv.com. Besides adding Twitch TV options the 1.7.9 update says that it fixes Minecraft skins in multiplayer servers. I tried it out with my friends and it actually does not work. It does work sometimes but I think the skin is not working because of some game lag. The Minecraft Realm is now a server you can make but you have to buy it. It is like buying a server with maps in it and only certain people you choose can join. There were many updates to the 1.7.5 and up updates but most wore just were fixes. But can you wait for the 1.8.1 update? I heard it is going to be amazing.

               

The guardian angel

Once there was a little boy who no one ever noticed. He wasn’t like everyone else he was different, He saw things that not everyone sees. No one knows he thinks it’s his guardian angel giving him signs. One day he was on a train on his way to New York. Suddenly he drifted in to a deep vision. He was on the same train but something felt different. The train stopped in Newark and then continued on its way to New York. It was peaceful and they said over the speaker, “We are now in Time square, New York.” Yet the train didn’t stop, it kept going everyone had troubled faces on. Another announcement was made, “the train is not stopping the brakes seem to not be working. Everyone please stay seated and stay calm.” Everyone was scared and confused and put there seatbelts on. The train started to shake and everyone grabbed their loved ones. The boy was alone somehow seemed calm. The head of the train lit up in flames. Everyone ran to the back section of the train scared for their lives.  Then He snapped back to reality. “We have now arrived in Newark, New Jersey.” The boy not taking any chances hurriedly left the train. The next day on the news he saw that the same exact train blew up and there were no survivors. The boy then looked up and smiled to his guardian angel.

             It is Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat as Heat lead Pacer 3-2. One more game and Heat go to the Finals. Pacers star players such as Roy Hibbert, George Hill, Paul George, and David West. Heat stars such as LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Ray Allen, Chris Bosh, and Mario Chalmers. It happens for the title for their conference division. It started in May 18, 2014 – it will end in May 30, 2014 or June 1, 2014. It happens in Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana. It also happens in American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida.

            As Pacers are losing by one game they are determine to tie it and win conference to go to the finals. One of Heat best player Ray Allen has a leg injury and didn't play and was reason they lost in Game 5 of the series. As reporter in http://bleacherreport.com says, "Chris Andersen (thigh) & Ray Allen (hip) did not take part in shootaround and are gametime decisions for Game 5 tonight." Pacers will play harder than ever tie series in Game 6 heading for last game. Heat in a difficult decision has to play better in defense and offense for Game 6. Without Ray Allen, the Heat player Lebron, Wade, and most of players can't play the same. Pacers need get this advantage to use.

As Pacers stay alive in Game 5 they need play better defense and offense. A reporter at http://bleacherreport.com says, "The Indiana Pacers stayed alive with a 93-90 victory in Game 5, taking advantage of LeBron James' foul trouble and squeaking out a close one at Bankers Life Fieldhouse." As LeBron James does critical decision to get himself in foul trouble is second reason they lost Game 5. Pacers are making serious game changes to beat the Heat. Who will win the Eastern Division title? Who do you think will pass to the Finals?

What’s a School without Book Bags?!

            Have you ever heard of going to school without a book bag? In iPrep Academy, Principal Roodenburg is not allowing students to bring book bags to school, or bring one and put it in your locker the whole day. Students are questioning this, and so are the parents. Some students say, “Why can’t we be a normal school and have our book bags?” Although, there are reasons students are not allowed to carry back-packs.

            Principal Roodenburg has had several students sent to his office for eating in the classrooms. And, guess what they are bringing the food in? Yes, their book bags! Principal Roodenburg says, “Students need to learn that they cannot bring food and other toys, games, etc. into school. If they don’t like it, they can leave this school.” That’s the Principal’s opinion. Students like Ashley Armstrong say, “I hate the way school rules apply to everyone, and I lost my charger because of this stupid rule!”

            Many students are arguing that only the students that brought food shouldn’t bring their book bags. Maybe they are correct. What about the students who bring their own lunch, for example Mellissa Calda? Or the people who have so many things that they need, they can’t even hold it all together? Well, maybe we’ll figure it out, but just ask yourself, what’s a school without book bags?

What to think about the FIFA world cup this year?

This year is the new FIFA world cup, it’s the 20^th FIFA world cup in history. Brazil has won five times, with one title less is Italy. Germany has won 3 world cups and lost two world wars. Argentina and Uruguay which are rivals have won two titles each. France, England and Spain won once. Most people are in favor of Brazil, Holland, Germany, Portugal and Argentina. Why? Because those countries have people favorites like Neymar, Lionel Messi, Ozil, and Cristiano Ronaldo and so on.   

Everyone is thinking about Spain and those really good countries. Why not think about your country? Many people love soccer. There are over 270 million people who play soccer in the world. That’s 4% of the world population, exactly the population of the U.S. or more. I think that Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Italy, Portugal and Uruguay have a good chance of winning. Why? These countries always get a chance, they also have the best players.

If we count what continents won more FIFA world cups, it’s Europe with 10. South America has a total of 9 FIFA world cups won. There is a lot of rivalry between European and South American countries. Especially Argentina and Portugal. People can’t exactly tell what can happen unless they have a time machine (which we don’t have) they can’t tell. Anything can happen in the FIFA world cup. “We’re excited. We’re looking forward to the challenge and we think we’re a good team. We think we’re a good team that can get better in a lot of areas.” U.S.A. Soccer Coach.  Even the worse country can beat the best country in the world. We’ll just have to wait.

A legend has fallen on the May 28, 2014. Our dear beloved Maya Angelou has died and many people are sad that such and amazing person died. She was a poet, and artist, and a spectacular person. We will always have your poems.

Many celebrates such as opera is hurt broken. She knew Maya and she said she changed her life. “Dr. Maya Angelou's wisdom has inspired countless people around the world, but she definitely inspired me. I always will love you and your powerful words.

I know one quote that helped me get up every morning. The quote “still I rise” is what keeps I going and it is powerful. So even though she is gone I still have a piece of her.

Have you ever been or wanted to the white house? The White house is, the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States. It’s the biggest house you can ever go to or have if you become the next president. The White house takes place1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. The white house has 132 rooms, 32 bathrooms, 3 elevators, 28 fireplace, 147 windows, 412 doors, 7 staircases, also 6 floors. At this point President Obama lives in the White house with the first lady Michelle Obama, and there 2 daughters named Natasha Obama and  Malia Ann Obama.

George Washington was also the first president in the world to attend to the White House. Suppose the White House been standing since the 1800’s, but it got burned down in 1814 and it had to get rebuild and after that is just been standing. At this point the White House has so many interest things in it like a Tennis Court, Jogging Track, Swimming Pool, Movie Theater, and even a bowling lane. Did you know about 6,000 people visit the White House almost every day? Also if you didn’t know, the White House is the president private home.

Since the white house can have a quote I would than tell one of the quotes the President Obama once said. President Obama once said “If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress”. This quote means if you’re doing something educational in life keep doing it don’t stop because something big might happen to you. It don’t have to be something education either just do things that is good so you can achieve something in you life.  Like example President Obama he wanted to become the first African American President and guess what he made it because he stayed on the right path and also he didn’t quit.

Student Behavior

Today, I would like to discuss on the topic of student behavior. I couldn’t help but notice but notice that during the overall school year, most of the students (6-8) are loud and rowdy, while the others (1-5) is more controlled and well-mannered. Why is this? It makes no sense…that is unless this is how our generation is going to end up. But at least there are {SOME} people like me who are normal.

 

“I guess over time, a student becomes more and more unbalanced.” I conclude. It makes sense on one part, but then there are some 5^th graders who are rather vulgar (They swear quite some.) There is an exception that everyone is different, but should at least be able to control themselves. It’s not that hard, but they make it look like it’s a real struggle. Why must our generation be so difficult to deal with?

Strict rules: are you a victim or suspect?

At iPrep Academy in Elizabeth, New Jersey, 4 students were interviewed on their opinion of the school. They all said almost the same thing. Students Nicole and Shalencia both said they would like to be valedictorian because it would show that the school was, but it would show that this school changed their lives and it would look good on their record. Both students said that from the beginning of the year till now, the rules have changed, they enforced stricter rules.

Both Shalencia and Nicole, “They took away our backpacks because multiple students have been eating during class. To be honest, I didn’t sneak in food so I find it unfair that this rule was enforcement.” Thy think they should have their backpacks for multiple reasons, books, laptops, binders and more. Our backpacks are checked every morning to see if we have anything vile but students still sneak in food. Shouldn’t backpacks be taken away from the suspects, but not the victims?

Do you remember a time where you were or a family member was watching Hannah Montana and you thought of how innocent she was? She didn't disobey her dad and always stayed loyal to her friends. But as time went on she started to change sometimes and it was slow and kind of unnoticeable until BAM! That Miley was long gone. She had blonde hair and everyone thought it was a stage a publicity stunt but it wasn’t it was here to stay. Next thing we know she’s barely wearing any clothes, sticking her tongue out and twerking on grown men. Now that I think about it…she’s twerking on everyone! It’s really beginning to be too much. She is getting out of control and it’s not making her any more famous people are telling their kids not to see her concerts, videos, and performances.

Now the question is why? Why has Miley gone off the deep end? Why is she acting like this? And why has she switched to Illuminati? She says and I quote “I’m all messed up.” I believe that there is no excuse for the way that she is acting. Really Miley this is how you treat your fans and that’s the excuse that you give? You should have at least said a better excuse even a lie. I think she is just doing this for attention. She was falling off course when Hannah Montana ended and now she is acting like a fool for fame and fortune. 

All in all I think that Miley Cyrus is really getting out of control and should really stop what she’s doing or somebody will get their feelings hurt and I think that somebody is her.

2 Top Things to do this summer

This summer you can go to six flags. It is a fun adventurous time that you can experience. When you go to six flags you can try out all the rides that they have. There are many good rides that can make you laugh, smile, or even scream. Going to six flags will make you have the time of your life. You can try things that you never tried before. For instance if you never rode a roller coaster than going to six flags will probably be your first time and you will love it. An example of one ride in six flags would be Apocalypse, this ride will make you scream of excitement.

The Beach:

Going to the beach will cool you down from the heat. The beach is a place to calm down, get a tan and swim. It is a beautiful place to go to. Having fun at the beach will make your top 5 places to go this summer. Going to the beach will make you have so much fun that you will want to go more often. There are many beaches all over the world. One of the beaches that you can try to go to would be.

           2014 Fifa World Cup is an event that happens every four years and only featuring 32 countries. It is located at Brazil this year and is to know what team is the best in the world. According to pwc.com, “In 2014, an estimated 500,000 soccer fans from all over the globe will descend on Brazil to attend the world’s largest soccer event.”  It is during summer and it is split into groups, round of 16, quarter finals, semi-finals, game for third place, and Finals. Groups have letters as Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, Group E, Group F, Group G, and Group H. Then 16 teams passes to the round of 16 or 8 games, and then 8 teams passes to Quarter-final or 4 games. After the teams pass they go to semi-final or 2 games, and later the teams who lost in semi-finals go against each other will face a game for third place. At last the last two teams will face for World Cup title, money and trophy.

            The teams were already qualified and are for Group A is Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, and Cameroon. The teams in Group B are Spain, Netherlands, Chile, and Australia. The teams in Group C is Colombia, Greece, Cote D’ivoire, and Japan. The teams in Group D is Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, and Italy. The teams in Group E is Switzerland, Ecuador, France, and Honduras. The teams in Group F is Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iran, and Nigeria. The teams in Group G is Germany, Portugal, Ghana, and USA. The teams in Group H is Belgium, Algeria, Russia, and Korea Republic.

This teams are all facing for the 2014 World Cup. All this teams go through Round 16, quarter-finals, semi-final, and the Finals. Only two will pass for each group! Who you think will pass for each group? Give me your opinion on this event that is coming in June 13 for first game of World cup.
