Is it really that serious?

Shalencia Cajulus                                                                                                    iPrep Academy
iPrep News: Student Opinion

In the beginning of September I got an acceptance letter to I prep academy school number 8. You might say oh your so luck that you got picked in this school and other people (hint*hint* the students) would disagree I surveyed a few people to see whether this school is as serious as they say it is.
Alright the first topic is school lunch. In the paper it said that there would be an Italian chef that would cook gourmet foods for us what do students really feel about this lunch? We asked Marie Fleurmond what she felt about this school lunch and how ‘gourmet’ she thinks it is. She says “It’s okay, they said they were supposed to have an Italian chef but we have the same thing every day uncooked chick nuggets.”

For our second topic we have the rules. I asked Walter Smith what he felt about the school rules were they fair or too strict to bare. He says “I feel like the school rules are very biased. It is only in the teachers favors and it has no use to us cool kids.”

For our third topic we have the teachers. Are they too mean too strict or nice and give us a good learning experience? We asked Melissa Calda how she felt “these teachers are very rude and feisty. There are only two or three teachers that students actually like.”

Our fourth topic is the laptops. I’m not complaining YET but they said that we were supposed to get iPads. I’m not saying that I don’t like the laptops it’s just that we have laptops breaking left and right and it takes a while to get them fixed they should be able to go to Walmart or wherever they got these and get a new one poof. I asked Nichole Burbano how she feels about the laptops and their ‘ingenuity’ “these laptops are useless, because we barely do any work on them.”

All things considered this school is not as serious as people say it is. The board of education is wasting their time coming here every month. They’re wasting their film taking pictures of us left and right.

Student Behavior

Elijah Pineda                 7/303

Today, I would like to discuss on the topic of student behavior. I couldn’t help but notice but notice that during the overall school year, most of the students (6-8) are loud and rowdy, while the others (1-5) is more controlled and well-mannered. Why is this? It makes no sense…that is unless this is how our generation is going to end up. But at least there are {SOME} people like me who are normal.

“I guess over time, a student becomes more and more unbalanced.” I conclude. It makes sense on one part, but then there are some 5th graders who are rather vulgar (They swear quite some.) There is an exception that everyone is different, but should at least be able to control themselves. It’s not that hard, but they make it look like it’s a real struggle. Why must our generation be so difficult to deal with?

2 Top Things to do this summer

Zulmari Rivera
This summer you can go to six flags. It is a fun adventurous time that you can experience. When you go to six flags you can try out all the rides that they have. There are many good rides that can make you laugh, smile, or even scream. Going to six flags will make you have the time of your life. You can try things that you never tried before. For instance if you never rode a roller coaster than going to six flags will probably be your first time and you will love it. An example of one ride in six flags would be Apocalypse, this ride will make you scream of excitement.

The Beach:

Going to the beach will cool you down from the heat. The beach is a place to calm down, get a tan and swim. It is a beautiful place to go to. Having fun at the beach will make your top 5 places to go this summer. Going to the beach will make you have so much fun that you will want to go more often. There are many beaches all over the world. One of the beaches that you can try to go to would be.

Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks?

Fabliha Roza

Dunkin Donuts, Star Bucks which is better?

Students are being surveyed of the better fast food restaurant. The fast food restaurants chosen were Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. They want to know if there were anything that they had to improve. The survey started at May 15th. The survey was taken in School 8 taken on the laptop.
On May 20th, the votes were counted. The results were that Dunkin Donuts was better than Starbucks. One student said that the coffee in Starbucks was too caffeinated. It gave her mom a chest ache. Dunkin Donuts also gave more coupons for foods. Additionally, Dunkin Donuts have donuts, which people love. Dunkin Donuts have some foods and offers that Starbucks doesn’t have. That doesn’t mean Starbucks isn’t a good fast food restaurant.

School Lunch or Fake Lunch?

School Lunch or Fake Lunch

Would you choose Taco Bell over a fake piece of chicken or what? Students at iPrep Academy are claiming that school lunch might be fake. On the other hand, some students say that most of the time, the lunch is “eatable”. All across the country, most students have made fun of school lunch for fun, but can it get so out of hand, even parents are starting to worry.

According to many sources, 41% of food from school is either bagged or artificial. This makes many students sick to the stomach. But, what they didn’t know is that 91% of students eat school lunch. To prove how students feel, I interviewed Johnny Pillacela and he says, “It’s junk most of the time, but it mostly tastes good. I eat school lunch every day. In my old school I found a hair in my food. The vegetables are can
ned food and it tastes nasty, although, the fruit tastes really good.” I also interviewed student Shalencia Cajulus, “It’s not really good at all. I don’t eat it every day, but sometimes I bring my own lunch because it is so bad. I’ve had hair in my food a lot, multiple times.” This just proves how students have felt about school lunch for many years.

Although students may complain, many lunch ladies and cooks say school lunch is healthy due to the variety of healthy types of food. School lunches have a selection of different foods in every meal. For example, in all meals there are bread, fruit, vegetables and the main meal. Now, let me ask you, does your school serve school lunch or fake lunch?

Opinion on Miley Cyrus

Opinion on Miley Cyrus

As the climate changes, so does my point of view on certain things change. My opinion on Miley Cyrus has drastically changed since her new haircut debut. Miley is a new person ever since she left her ex, changed her style, and moved on from what was holding her down. My opinion on her changed to better when I made up my mind on her when her album, Bangerz, came out which was in fall 2013. She has been an idol to me since then because she is not afraid to express herself in whatever manner.
Miley is a strong sensitive woman whose music has brought her to many places. Her personal life has been so crucial that some of her song’s lyrics are based on her real-life experiences. Her music is great because she devotes herself to it 100%. After her engagement broke, everything changed. She had a whole transformation that included her outrageous haircut. She’s young and confused about where her life is taking her, is all.
I think this way because I have been a fan of hers ever since she transformed herself. The reason I became a fan at that moment is because she made a change in which she started loving herself and expressing her real self, and that made her music 100x better. According to www.glamourmagazine.co.uk, “In the interview - which airs in the US on 18 December - the 21-year-old reveals that her relationship with the Hunger Games actor was too much, too soon.” This shows that in order to stay true to herself she had to let go of that relationship because it was holding her down. Causing her to remain miserable and not be able to connect to who she really is, an artist.

A crisis that has hypnotized New Jersey is the internet by opinion reporter Ja’Kyah Williams

I know how much people love their iPods or tablets but, too much use of these highly addictive products can be dangerous. Some people have even gotten cancer from their modern technology. In New Jersey most citizens use their cell phones all day. Most of them use Facebook and twitter or other social cites. Using social media can be dangerous and lead to suicidal actions.

In the movie cyberbully Taylor hillwood tried to kill herself because of a website called clixters. The bully picking on her was her best friend in a jealous rage. Taylor joined a support group with other oppressed people. They went to a reporter afterwards to tell the story to the world. They eventually had the story written and confronted another bully at school.
I took a survey and many people like having their I phones or tablets near them. They could even have cancer and not even know it. those people could have only days or weeks or months to live. Cellular obsession is common and sometimes deadly. if you are one of these people I suggest getting checked for cancer and quick
